Church Magazine
Parish of Wonersh with Blackheath
Page last updated Saturday 16 July 2011
We have a monthly magazine, produced by the church. The parish magazine is highly valued by parishioners, produced monthly and distributed free to all homes in the Parish, apart from the few who do not wish to receive it. The magazine welcomes community news and has a spiritual thrust as carrying information about events in both churches and in the villages. In addition to providing information about what’s happening in the Parish and details of services, Christian articles and an introductory letter by the Vicar or member of the Ministry Team, it also reports on other village activities including those of the Parish Council, Scouts, schools, History Society, U3A, Village Club, Bowls Club and also the URC.
The magazine was first produced in 1885. Copies are held at the Surrey History Centre and they provide an important insight into the life and times of the parish.
The Magazine editor is John Mash.

Magazines are distributed to every house in the Parish by our Street Wardens, co-ordinated in Wonersh by Audrey Wright assisted by Lesley Dunt, and in Blackheath by Nicola Mendelssohn.
Blackheath Focus is co-ordinated by Sue Jackson
A limited amount of advertising of local businesses also provides a local service and helps towards the annual printing cost of some £3000. Advertising is managed by John Gosden.
Help is given to Magazine editors in the form of a CofE Communications Bulletin and from Parish Pump - The Essential Website for Church Magazine Editors!
