The children supported by Xplorers! and Light Factory through Compassion

Wonersh Xplorers! and Light Factory make regular collections from the children themselves in order to support a disadvantaged child overseas. We have supported 2 children through Tearfund since about 1994, but now that these children have grown up we are now supporting a child through Compassion. His name is Mukundi (aged 8) and he comes from Kenya. The children also pray for him regularly.
Child Sponsorship with Compassion
Compassion child sponsorship is a powerful and enduring way to tackle world poverty. Compassion seeks out some of the world’s most vulnerable children and through individual sponsors provides them with the means to break the cycle of poverty and create a bright future.
Working exclusively through local churches in developing countries, Compassion ensures there is financial integrity, long-term commitment and the opportunity for every child to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus Christ. In every aspect of its work Compassion is Christ centred, child focused and church based.
As Compassion sponsor our support (of £21 a month) ensures that Mukundi has access good nutrition, education, healthcare, social and emotional care and spiritual nurturing. We are invited to pray regularly for Mukundi and to write letters of encouragement to him.
As sponsored children grow up with the skills and self confidence they need for the future many go on to great things that positively impact their families and communities.
