Baptisms

Baptism marks the start of the journey of Christian faith and can take place at any age. We are pleased to baptise babies, children or adults and want to help you prepare for this important step. We run baptism courses over two Saturday mornings (8.30 -10am with breakfast and crèche provided!), as well as meeting with you individually.

In baptism of infants (also called Christening) parents and godparents make promises of Christian faith and commit to help and support the child to grow in that faith. Baptisms are conducted in our main service at 10am on a Sunday morning, normally in a more relaxed Family Service. If, however, you do not feel ready to make the promises contained in the baptism service we also offer another service to help celebrate the gift of your new baby: a service of Thanksgiving. In this service we give thanks for your baby and ask God's blessing on them.

To discuss baptism of your child or yourself further, or a service of Thanksgiving for your child, please contact the Church Office (office@wonershchurch.org.uk
 or call 01483 890266).
